(Assist Rig Manager: MODU – GOM)

  • Assist Rig Manager with day to day duties – Attending client Meetings/Conference Calls.
  • Assist Rig Manager with overall performance of personnel, installation, working practices and continuously improve Safety Standards, culture and morale through leadership and guidance. Review Annual Rig Budget.
  • Attend operating MODU and vendors’ facility for audits and to monitor work progress.
  • Execute project monitoring activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with agreed requirements.

Project Management /Supervision:

  • April – June 2015: Stena Forth SPS support – Managed the recertification of Tubulars and Drilling equipment.
  • January 2014: Stena Forth: Supervise 2nd BOP and HPU unit Installation, Grand Bahamas Ship Yard.

April 2012 – Oct 2013: Lead Operations Engineer, Stena Drilling, Aberdeen, UK.

Operations/Management Support

  • Undertake various Retrofit/ project work, including Site surveys, project planning and execution.
  • Provide support to Engineering Department on Drilling and solid control Equipment (plan, GA, P&ID etc.).
  • Support with preparation of future tenders and contractual issues.
  • Mentored Trainee Engineers assigned to operations team.
  • Lead a team of Operations Engineer to effectively carry out duties within the Operations department.
  • Act as Duty Manager and Emergency Response Team Leader in the event of any major accident/Incident.

May 2011 – April 2012: Project Commissioning Engineer, Stena Drilling, Geoje, South Korea.

Stena IceMAX (New Build Project): Project Coordinate all commissioning activities on Topside (including, Drilling, lifting and Solid control) Equipment. Act as liaison between project team, Operations team and Client. Review all commissioning document ensuring correct procedure is in line with DNV requirements. Plan and Track SIT progress during Topside system integration test. Compile lesson learned upon commissioning and completion.

Aug 2010 – May 2011: Operations Engineer, Stena Drilling, Aberdeen, UK.

  • Liaise with client on technical issues and upgrades/modifications proposals.
  • Provide technical support with preparation of future tenders and contractual issues.
  • Attend Commissioning/ FATs as required.
  • Prepare cost plan and budget for new projects and internally required modifications.
  • Review Performance reports, track and investigate areas of improvement.

Sep 2009 – Aug 2010: Project Manager, Stena Drilling, Global Operations; Stena Clyde SPS Project.

$4.5m Marine Riser IMR Project, Perth, Australia: Managed all aspect of the project phases. Established the project scope of work, cost and man-hour estimates; obtained input from relevant departments for project plan input. Developed project management planned. Monitored the progress of work while ensuring the application of codes and standards. Define and assess problems, develop options and implement engineering solutions. Ensured timely deliverables of tasks and activities of 19 members on site. Compile lesson learned on completion.

Dec 2008 – Aug 2009: Project Coordinator, Stena Drilling, Global Operations; Stena Tay SPS Project.

$4.25m Marine Riser IMR Project, Las Palmas, Spain: Develop estimates for the cost of engineering, labour, equipment and materials to effectively manage project. Lead and coordinate project ensuring scope of work and key requirements are followed. Review drawings. Apply company procedures including contract administration, procurement, business risk identification and mitigation, and QA. Monitored and track the progress of work against planned scheduled ensuring project cost remain within budget. Provides daily report to Line Manager.

Dec 2008 – Aug 2009: Operations Engineer, $1.5m BOP Recertification project, Aberdeen, UK.

Project Supervisor: My main task was to coordinate and monitor the progress of works while ensuring, the modification and recertification process is in conformance with the design specifications, codes and standards. The project involved the modification of ‘twin’ BOP in conformance to Standard API 16A Drill through Equipment and DVN-OS-E101 Drilling Plant.

Sep 2006 – Aug 2009: Graduate Operations Engineer, Stena Drilling, Global Operations.

Underwent intensive in house on the job training, regular rig visit (including UK North Sea, Norway, West Africa) as per training programme. Involved in various Equipment upgrade and recertification including, BOP body, Bonnets, PS 21 slips. Drilling Tubular, subs and chicksans to applicable standards. Involved in various assigned projects. Prepare performance presentations.
