  • Developed and integrated new safety program including forklift training and proper lifting techniques.  Also introduced monthly safety meetings and distribution of safety literature, all which was not in place when I arrived.
  • Presented company safety objectives to large corporations such as BP and Shell prior to being awarded large contracts from them to perform work on their campus.
  • Implemented a driving monitor program which allowed us to identify unsafe driving behavior such as speeding or quick stops and quickly address with employees to eliminate driving hazards. 
  • Processed claims for employees injured at work, including workers compensation and identifying proper treatment centers.

United States Marine Corps                         Sergeant                                   1999-2008

  • As Quality Assurance Officer, oversaw all safety related tasks for unit of over 150 Marines and 16 Heavy Lift helicopters.
  • Responsible to upper level management for the safe operations within the maintenance section.
  • Provide safety indoctrination training to all newly assigned personnel, introducing all Naval safety standards as well as Marine Aviation requirements
  • Provide semiannual follow up training for all assigned personnel on all Naval Occupational Safety requirements.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled Work Center audits to ensure all personnel are operating in accordance with published regulations.  Also provided follow up inspections to correct all noted discrepancies.
  • Inspect all safety of flight related maintenance actions performed on helicopters to ensure work was performed safely and in accordance with maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure proper use of safety PPE at all times
